UI Design | UX Research
The Counseling and Mental Health Center at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) wants to create their own In-house Mental Health Awareness Program and transition out of the third party program they currently use. My role involved spearheading the design of marketing materials, designing the programs digital marketing and program assets.
Develop a comprehensive visual identity and marketing materials for the new program that resonates with the UHCL student body and effectively communicates the program's essence.
Design the program's logo, promotional flyers, T-shirts, course teaching materials, and infographics.
Research was conducted on the university’s student body through their public demographic statistics in order to create user personas of our target audience.
An analysis was conducted of the current third-party mental health awareness course seeking areas of opportunities for development.
Methodology:
Multiple designs were created for each project using Canva, where the Center’s Faculty voted for the best designs. The following presents the designs created for each deliverable.
Project 1: Logo
Task: Create logo designs that communicate unity, support, and mental health using the program’s color pallet (blue, lime green, green, and black) and slogan (Connect. Empower. refer, Thrive).
Project 2: T-shirts
Task: Create different t-shirt designs that promote the C.E.r.T. slogan of, “Self-care isn’t selfish” targeted towards the UHCL Student body.
Project 2: Teaching Materials
Task: Create different t-shirt designs that promote the C.E.r.T. slogan of, “Self-care isn’t selfish” targeted towards the UHCL Student body.
Project 4: Official C.E.r.T. Program Flyer
Task: Design a flyer that introduces the C.E.r.T. program
Project 5: Infographics
Task: Create a graphic for the teaching materials that communicates what the acronym C.E.r.T. stands for.
Project 6: Completion of Certificate
Task: Design the Certificate of Completion of the course.
Successfully designed graphic assets aligned with the Counseling and Mental Health’s vision of the new C.E.r.T. Mental Health Awareness Program.
Contributed to the research, design, and launch of the program currently active within the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
